When asked the question: In your opinion, who is the best DJ of all time? DJ Shortkut responded with, "I won't say the best. I never like to think anyone is the best. We all are struggling to be the best in some way. I'd give it up to Kool Herc just because if it weren't for him we wouldn't all be here. We would all never got the idea. That's why I love dancehall so much now. Kool Herc brought that whole dancehall sound system style into hiphop. I just think he was a genius to bring that to us and make it possible for a lot of people to live off of it."
