About

As one of the partners and founders of NK7 Productions, DJ Seven is NK7’s resident DJ, the DJ booking arm, the encyclopedia of all things musical, host and promoter extraordinaire.

DJ Seven is well known for his amazing versatility and range, with an extreme depth of knowledge in many musical genres. He can be booked to play an alluring down tempo set to a chill dub/reggae set to an old school hip hop set to a deep funky house set to a nasty breaks set. With sharp mixing skills and very innovative track selections and the ability to adapt to the audience, DJ Seven is one of San Francisco’s top billed DJs. His signature style ranges from deep house to peak-hour electro and breaks with lots of tech house and funky bassline-driven house woven throughout.

1998 was a breakthrough year for DJ Seven as he got booked to play in San Francisco with residencies at clubs like Backflip now called ‘Bambuddha Lounge’. Since then, he’s played almost every club in SF including top large billing venues like Ruby Skye, 1015 Folsom and Mezzanine. DJ Seven has been top 20 in Nitevibe’s Top 10 DJ Dreamteam Contest competition three years running (2002-2005), voted lucky #7 for 2006.

DJ Seven has played along side the world’s best like Armand Van Helden, Colette, DJ Dan, Gene Ferris, John Tejada, Kaskade, Kruder & Dorfmeister, LTJ Bukem, Mark Farina and Miguel Migs. Additionally, he’s played among other universal talents at large scale events like Miami’s WMC (OM’s West Coast Massive 2001, Albion Hotel ‘SF By Definition’, Club Ibiza for Mixed Elements, Supperclub 2005), SF’s Love Parade (2004-2005), Burning Man (2003-05), San Francisco Gay Pride (2000) and The Big Ass Show (2001) in Salt Lake UT.

Often coined the “hardest working DJ in San Francisco”, in 2002 DJ Seven launched two record labels with a business partner: Lo-Rise Recordings (house, techno and breaks) and the downtempo sister label, Slo-Rise Recordings. The label is respected in the industry and sells its records in stores all over the country. Lo-Rise tracks are for sale on download sites like Beatport, iTunes and Stompy.com, including the recent iTunes SF Love Parade Promotion.

In 2005, DJ Seven started a bootleg label called Bootshine Records (with its first release by The X-Men Project) and a production company called NK7 Productions that throws large scale very successful warehouse parties booking SF’s top DJ talent. DJ Seven has regular weekly and monthly residencies at various clubs in the city.
