Tabard’s Youth/Mentor show is a unique experience that provides young performers ages 7-16 the opportunity to rehearse and perform in the fully produced musical Disney Beauty and the Beast Jr. alongside experienced adult performers who serve as performing arts mentors. Young people of all abilities and experience are welcome and encouraged to participate. All who sign up are cast. Casting sessions (“auditions”) are held prior to the start of rehearsals to help directors identify the most appropriate role for each youth and mentor performer.

Ages: 7-16

Casting: June 12 & 13, email Nick Nichols at [email protected] by May 31, 2019 (sooner is fine!) for casting session appointment.

Rehearsal Starts: June 17, 2019

Rehearsals: Mon, Wed, Thu 6:30-9:00pm - The final schedule will accommodate cast availability as much as possible. Rehearsals will be at The Tabard Theatre, 29 N. San Pedro Street, Downtown San Jose.

Performance dates: August 2, 3 & 4, 2019, at Tabard Theatre, 29 N. San Pedro Street, Downtown San Jose.

Youth Registration Fee: $125

Everyone who registers will be cast in the show. Our Casting Sessions help us to decide which role is right for you. Once registered in the Youth/Mentor Production, you will be contacted and assigned a Casting Session time. This process is our chance to get to know you and to see what your performance skills are at this time.

I have no previous experience. Is this production right for me? Yes! We welcome and encourage new-comers. Our adult mentors and previous participants will welcome you and help you to feel comfortable. We are here to have fun and make new friends while participating in theatre.
