Description
Dat Phan, the Original Winner of "Last Comic Standing," is headlining a very funny benefit event for the PACE Clinic, which provides HIV/AIDS treatment to uninsured patients in Santa Clara County. Phan has made numerous TV and movie appearances including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Family Guy" voiceover and "Cellular." Phan's culturally insightful comedy inspects ridiculous stereotypes, and shares his experience of being a regular American guy with a Vietnamese heritage. His youthful energy and truly unique life experiences, including all the tough times, are combined to create the message of living your dreams and reaching out for the stars. Phan's mission is to bring a more positive portrayal of Asian-Americans to mainstream entertainment and Hollywood. "We want to be seen as more than just martial artists, or bad stereotype token roles in American TV and movies." Also starring are local favorites Jon Talbert (pastor at WestGate Church who frequently performs at Rooster T. Feathers and the Improv) and Marty Grimes (actor and comedian with gigs in San Francisco and throughout Northern California). Before the comedians take the stage, Sasha Stephane (Cher impersonator), joined by Angel Michaels, Brandy Alexander and Niki D'vine (The Divas from Tinker's Dam Night Club) will dazzle in a Vegas-esque show.More Info
