Local indie rockers ColorScout are back in action after a year off for the birth of one of the band member's babies. (Did they name her/him Scout? Would that be cute or weird? Who knows?) The five-piece has the traditional bass, guitar and drums in the band, but the lineup also includes Rosa Leonardo on keys and Lisa Wong on violin, the combination of which gives the band a kind of down tempo Ra Ra Riot vibe. They circle around folk and jangle-pop, and play a sort of acoustic variation of R.E.M. and other late '80s alternative rock acts. (Stephen Layton)
