Description
Celtic Thunder, the singing group from Ireland, debuted in August 2007 in Dublin. Accompanied by the Celtic Concert Orchestra under the direction of David Munro, the musical director of the group, Celtic Thunder have become a household name all around the world, with recent ventures into Australia and South Africa.Hailed as Billboard‘s Top World Music Artist, Album & Imprint of 2009 and 2011, Celtic Thunder has achieved sales of over two million copies and 500,000 in ticket sales to date. Celtic Thunder’s official YouTube channel, “Thunder Tube” has had over 30 million upload views since the channel’s inception in summer 2008.
Celtic Thunder live shows are known for dramatic effects, lighting and choreography, realistic Irish stage sets and authentic Irish instruments. The performances have dramatic solos, compelling ensembles and humor.
