New Asian fusion restaurant Izzo serves traditional Taiwanese and Chinese food, but owner Frank Chang also plans to emphasize new creations that draw on Asian influences. For example, Izzo swaps tortillas out for Chinese scallion pancakes to create the pork belly quesadilla, a dish that seems on track to become a signature offering. We sat down with Chang to ask him about the flavors that inspire Izzo’s menu.

Within just one year of operation, Chromatic Coffee has built a newfound collaborative energy in the South Bay coffee community. Chromatic’s three co-founders decided it was time to create a sustainable coffee community—perhaps their biggest accomplishment thus far has been introducing a South Bay edition of latte art competition series, TNT. Inspired by a neighborhood bakery in downtown Chicago, Corner Bakery’s menu is comprised of signature sandwiches, soups, salads, and baked goods. For breakfast, one can order made-to-order egg scramblers, egg sandwiches or oatmeal: steel-cut, honey banana or chilled Swiss.
