***PLEASE NOTE!!! - There has been a big increase in scam artists posing as legitmate locksmiths. They advertise under dozens of names and addresses in the phone book and internet directories. They appear to have a local number and address but you are really forwarded to a dispatch center (sometimes in another state). They will quote one price on the phone and when the unlicensed and uninsured guy comes out he will try to extort money out of you. To help stop this scam ask them for their address. If it doesn't match what they have listed, hang up! Also ask if they are licensed. Licensing basically means that they have been checked out by the FBI not to have a criminal background. Then ask the service person for their locksmith license. If they don't have one don't give them the keys to your house or home. If they hassle you ask them if they would like you to call the police.
