About
Bosworth & Son General Merchandise, located in Geyserville, California, is an old fashioned store, rich in nostalgia and charm, yet meeting the needs of today's townsfolk’s. Visiting the store is like a step back in time.
In 1911, George Bosworth began “Bosworth and Son General Merchandise”, with his 17 year old son Obed. The building was originally a buggy shop (the paint stains are still on the floor) and a mortuary. George & Obed continued with the mortuary and used the buggy shop portion of the building to start a general merchandise business. They sold groceries, dry goods & gents’ furnishings and began the Olive Hill Cemetery. In 1925 when George passed away, Obed discontinued the Mortuary but continued to operate the store until he passed away in 1981. It was then when Obed’s son, Harry, began carrying on the family tradition. Today, the old time store remains much the same retaining it old-time charm. Bosworth’s continues to sell western ware, hats, boots, horse tack, animal feed and hardware.
