Description
At a time when the founder of the so-called "alt right" movement has claimed that he wants to defend European culture, it is artists like Black Violin who prove how bankrupt that claim is. One gets the impression that Kevin Sylvester and Wilner Baptiste (the two African American string players who make up Black Violin) have more respect for the 500 year old European instrument than that twitter troll ever will. The duo use their virtuosic skills to breathe new life into their classical instruments, bringing elements of Gil Scott Heron, trap and trip-hop music to their classical chops & theory.
