About
The Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society is legendary in the Jazz and Classical music community and a tribute to Pete Douglas’ determination to preserve an intimate “roadhouse” venue. With panoramic ocean views and casual atmosphere, the 200 seat concert room provides a rare opportunity for a very personal musical experience with professional touring artists. Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Stanley Turrentine, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, Ravi Shankar, the Kronos and St. Petersburg Quartets have played here, to name just a very few.
The Douglas Beach House on Miramar Beach is home to the Bach Society, a non-profit organization for musical arts. It is not a private club, and is open to the public, but members receive priority reservations and seating. Scheduled concerts are on Sunday afternoons. Visit www.bachddsoc.org to view current calendar. Doors open to the public for claiming seats at 3pm. The music starts at 4:30 and goes to 7:30, with intermission. Food and beverages are available, and outside picnics permitted.
