About
Alan has been the Director of Tennis at Golden Gateway since 1968. He also did double duty as Club Manager from 1972 to 1992. Born in Bermuda and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Alan is a former Western Canadian Open singles champion, a number-one-ranked open mixed doubles player in Northern California, and a nationally ranked senior in the United States. He played varsity tennis at the University of Arizona and before he embarked on a short-lived career on the international circuit, he was a member of Canada's National Collegiate Tennis Team and Canada's six-man Davis Cup touring squad. Outside of tennis, Alan's interests include photography, travel, golf, power boating, and the San Jose Sharks.
