Notre Dame de Namur University’s Wiegand Gallery Presents
Adelie Landis Bischoff: Then and Now
Mark Bischoff: Sculptures
BELMONT, California, February 10, 2012– The Wiegand Gallery at Notre Dame de Namur University is proud to present Adelie Landis Bischoff: Then and Now, Mark Bischoff: Sculptures, March 16th to April 21st , 2012. The opening reception takes place on Sunday, March 25th, 2-4pm.
“As she continues to work and challenge herself, her thoughts and observations about the journey and process always focus on what is in progress, coming next. Never the past.”
Jeremy Stone
Adelie Landis Bischoff is a charismatic veteran of the Bay Area Figurative School. This exhibition will be a retrospective of her long and still highly active painting career. Her impasto landscapes and figures of the nineteen sixties and seventies have given way to abstracted figuration with a wry political slant. Her work is held in numerous private and public collections including Art in Embassies, in Washington D.C.; Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, and the University of California Art Museum in Berkeley. This exhibition will also include a selection of Mark Bischoff’s monumental sculptures. Mark is the son of Adelie and Elmer Bischoff.
Fundraiser
There will be a champagne brunch to benefit the Wiegand Gallery Endowment Fund March 25 at 1:OO p.m., before the reception open to the public. Tickets are $75. Please contact the gallery for information and reservations.
Auction of Elmer Bischoff Drawing
