Don’t get us wrong. Family is great and all… but Grandma’s house—with it’s weird wallpaper and odd odors—and Auntie Beth’s overly sweet candied yams aren’t exactly party-starters. And while it can be nice to catch up with family, good old Uncle Fred isn’t the ideal partner for a round of Jäger-bombs. Fortunately, there’s Back Wednesday.
Even if you’ve never heard of Black Wednesday, you may experienced—if you’ve ever gone out to the bars on the night before Thanksgiving, that is. Watering holes all over the country see a significant uptick in thirsty customers on this night, which brings college students and those who’ve moved away for work back home for the long weekend.
It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends you forgot you had and find out who is newly single. So, grab an Uber and head to one of the many Silicon Valley bars opening their doors this Wednesday. Eat, drink and be merry—then drink some more… responsibly, of course.
