Celebrations of fall and family fun will be at Pumpkins in the Park this Saturday, October 8, in Guadalupe River Park in downtown San Jose.
The festive event begins at 10am with a performance by Center Stage Dance Company followed by a children’s costume parade at 10:30am. Children dressed up for the parade will receive a free goodie bag and the winner receives a special prize.
Other all-day events include a scarecrow making contest, giant Sunflower competition, pumpkin decorating, a giant pumpkin patch as well as apple and cider tasting. Children’s musician Andy Z will also have two performances during the day starting at 11:15am.
The Guadalupe River Park Conservancy will host a raffle, offering prizes such as four guest vouchers to The Tech Museum, a day’s admission for two to California’s Great America and 4 Sharks tickets. Single raffle tickets are available for a $1 donation, or $10 for a dozen. Pumpkins in the Park winds down at 4pm when the prizes will be raffled off.
