Just last week, there were reports about San Jose’s Mineta Airport ranking third in the nation for the number of lasers being pointed at aircraft. Lasers pointed at aircraft can blind pilots temporarily during critical take-off and landing stages. In some cases, pilots were forced to hand over control of the aircraft to their co-pilots.

It happened again on Monday night. Police say that a suspect pointed a laser at a small aircraft about a mile from Reid-Hillview Airport. The police were immediately notified, and they sent a helicopter to search for the source of the laser beam. The suspect complied by pointing his laser at the helicopter as well. This enabled the helicopter crew to pinpoint the source of the laser—a house on Pipe Dream Court.  One person was arrested.
