A scourge of bedbugs has hit the South Bay, and it isn’t just hotels that are affected. The Avalon at Creekside apartment complex in Mountain View recently found that at least two of its units are infested.

Dr. Noor Tietze of Vector Control, which tracks the spread of the parasites, said that the problem results from people moving from apartment to apartment, and carrying the bugs with them inadvertently. Though the problem is most commonly associated with hotel rooms, the number of apartment infestations is decidedly on the rise, he says.
