As part of his ongoing collaboration with the world’s top culinary talent, Manresa’s David Kinch has invited Alexandre Gauthier of La Grenouillère (The Frog Pond) to join him for two “late summer harvest dinners” Sept. 11-12. The 31-year-old Gauthier is from La Madelaine-sous-Montreuil just outside of Montreuil-sur-Merin in the north of France. He received his first Michelin star in 2007.
Early in his career, Alain Ducasse recognized Gauthier’s talent and invited him to cook at Fou de France at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris. Since then, he has become the chef de cuisine at La Grenouillere and for Kinch he represents the “new, young generation of chefs in France.” His style shows his willingness to explore the unfamiliar and combines Japanese tradition with a French style.
Produce for the meal will comes from Love Apple Farm, a biodynamic farm that has been Manresa’s exclusive source since 2006.
The menu for this event will be paired with wines by wine director Jeff Bareilles. Seating begins at 5:30pm on Saturday evening and is sold out on Sunday. The eight course dinner is $195, not including wine and tax. Reservations are available by calling Manresa at 408.354.4330.
