Gotham City and all of its crime and debauchery is coming to the HP Pavilion starting Sept 20 for DC Comic’s first live action arena show, Batman Live.

San Jose will be the third stop for Batman Live’s U.S. tour, which premiered in the U.K. in July 2011 and finished a 160 performance tour across 28 cities and 15 countries. The two-hour show showcases the most popular villains and storylines in an action-packed event created for the whole family.

Written to appeal to diehard fans and Batman novice, Batman Live centers around the story of Robin, played by Kamran Darabi-Ford and Michael Pickering. He joins forces with Batman, played by Nick Court and Sam Heughan and Catwoman after he watches his parents being murdered. While under Bruce Wayne’s protection, they embark on a journey from Haly’s Circus to the Iceberg Lounge and finally to Arkham Asylum where Joker is up to no good with Two-Face, Harley Quinn, Penguin, Poison Ivy and the Riddler. Robin proves his worth and the story ends with Batman and Robin being a full-fledged crime fighting team.

Two and a half years in the making, Batman Live is put on by a 42 actor cast, circus trained acrobats, a 3D Gotham City landscape, an original symphonic score, 105-foot bat-shaped LED video wall, pyrotechnics and a custom made Batmobile, designed by legendary racing car designer Professor Gordon Murray. The Batmobile, designed specifically for the tour, is made from a new type of Carbon Fiber that is 100 times stronger than steel and has ground effect ventures that produce enough downforce to allow the vehicle to drive on the ceiling at 100 mph.

Batman Live will be at the HP Pavilion from Sept 20-23, then to the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com and range from $28.50 to $116.50.
