After a brief setback earlier this year, the San Jose Bacon Festival of America is set to return Oct 15-16.

More than 20 food trucks carrying traditional and international cuisine will converge on Plaza de Cesar Chavez. If plain old bacon isn’t enough to get your mouth watering, the tasty creations from favorites like Bacon Bacon, Grilled Cheese Bandits, Soulnese and It’s All Gravy will.

If the festival is anything like last year’s, the main courses are sure to be complemented by desserts. In 2015, the ice cream truck Treatbot came up with a succulent creation called “Fat Elvis,” which included banana ice cream with creamy peanut butter and maple bacon.

Beer vendors, including Lagunitas Brewing Co., Strike Brewing Co., Hermitage Brewing Co., Santa Clara Valley Brewing Co. and Miller provided relief from the heat last year, while photo booths and games helped keep youngsters entertained all throughout the day.

The live entertainment is shaping up to be just as spectacular as the food, with a battle of the bands competition and plenty of live music. In a pile-driving addition to this year’s festivities, performers from the Pro Wrestling Revolution will be doling out body slams and high-flying kicks both days.

Tickets for the event are on sale now. There are special discounts for kids and a VIP option. VIP tickets include a souvenir beer glass and a craft beer pass.
