San Jose is in for a wild weekend with a wealth of high art, pop culture and parties.

The first week of Broadway hit The Lion King is under way at San Jose Center for the Performing Arts and Opera San Jose debuts its latest production, Tosca, at California Theatre.

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, gets an update at The Ritz with 14-piece band Foreverland before SoFA Street Fair brings the ultimate #SundayFunday party with 85 bands on 15 stages.

Sports fans have plenty of options with Stanford Football, the San Jose Earthquakes and San Jose Sharks Fan Fest all taking over local sports venues. Also, be sure to keep an eye on evening commute traffic on Monday when the first-ever weeknight 49ers game at Levi’s Stadium for Monday Night Football.

Antique Autos showcases some seriously old-school rides (we’re talking 1940s and earlier) at History Park. Meanwhile, Star Chefs and the Wines and Spirits They Love brings local culinary stars and their fans together for an evening of food and booze and Mountain View hosts the 44th Mountain View Art & Wine Festival.
