Mega band U2 announced plans today for two San Jose concerts as part of the Innocence and Experience Tour.
The tour launches in Vancouver in May before making a stop on May 18 and May 19 for two shows at SAP Center. The shows mark the band’s first tour since U2’s record-breaking 360° Tour, which featured one of the largest stages ever constructed for a rock tour.
The new tour is organized in support of U2’s 13th album Songs of Innocence, which also made waves in the tech world after it the band gave it to more than half a billion iTunes customers. The album has since been streamed 81 million times and downloaded 30 million times.
“We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two, and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience,” said lead singer Bono in a statement announcing the tour.
Tickets for the San Jose concerts go on sale on Dec. 8 via Ticketmaster.
