It’s guaranteed to be a hot Labor Day Weekend in San Jose with the recent announcement that the debut Electronic Sriracha Festival will expand to two days with a second day of special events.

The action starts on August 30 with 120 Sriracha-inspired dishes for $6 or less, four bars, and 24 DJs performing on three stages at St. James Park.

The festival continues August 31 with a screening of the documentary Sriracha at Camera 12 Cinemas and a Q&A with a book signing with Sriracha Cookbook author Randy Clemens.

The film by director Griffin Hammond was a breakout success that started with a crowd source campaign to fund the project and eventually led the director on location in LA, New York and Thailand to document Sriracha’s origin story.

The Sriracha Cookbook, and it’s companion The Veggie-Lovers Sriracha Cookbook, showcases the hot sauce with 50 recipes in each book. Standouts include “the ultimate Sriracha burger recipe,” sriracha ceviche and “burning Thai bruschetta.”
