SF Beer Week, which kicks off Feb. 7, has made an incursion south: the winter edition of the San Jose Beerwalk, taking place Feb. 8, 2-6pm, in San Jose’s Japantown.

The first stop is a check-in at Jack’s Bar & Lounge. From there, beerwalkers have access to dozens of tasting locations, including art galleries, boutiques, cafes and even an auto repair shop—the truly determined can enjoy samples from 22 different craft breweries. The list includes New Belgium, Strike, Hermitage, 21st Amendment, Lagunitas, Santa Cruz Aleworks, Hangar 24, Lost Coast, Gordon Biersch and Legit Lager.

Participants looking to temper the buzz a bit can drop by Roy’s Station, a coffee and tea shop that will be serving free drip coffee during the event.

Beerwalkers who work up an appetite can swing by a dine-in or take-out crab feed that starts at 4pm. The crab feed benefits the Yu Ai Kai Japanese American Community Senior Center.

To really sweeten the deal, the first 60 beerwalkers to check in will receive a complimentary tour at the Gordon Biersch Bottling Plant. This is one event you won’t want to miss.

Tickets are $30 in advance/$35 at the door. For a full list of tasting locations and breweries, visit thebeerwalk.com. Ticket proceeds benefit the Japantown Business Association (JBA) & The Bay Brewers Guild.
