Joining the popular trend of the live action family events recently stopping in San Jose, film and animation production company DreamWorks is bringing How to Train Your Dragon Live to HP Pavilion this December.

The tour, which has already stopped in Australia, New Zealand and some North American cities, incorporates 3-D technology with more than a dozen dragons created by Sonny Tilders and the Creature Technology Company team that worked on the Walking With Dinosaurs live-action show.

The show includes the largest animatronic creature ever made by the team. The machines can weigh up to 2.6 tons with a wingspan of as much as 50 feet with flying and fire effects. The cast includes a team of actors, martial artists, rappers and break-dancers.

The floor of HP Pavilion will be used for projections that the cast will interact with, adding to the 3-D effects of the production.

Seven cities have been added to the North American tour, including the San Jose stop December 26-30. The production will also stop in Fresno on December 19-22 and Sacramento January 3-6.

Tickets are $29.50 to $88.50. More info.
