Local winemaker Adam Comartin, of Comartin Cellars, producer of some great grenache, will host a tasting party on Sept. 16 from 6 to 9pm at the Left Bank in Santana Row. Comartin will offer tastes of newly released wines as well as some older vintages.
Although he is known for his grenache, Comartin will also debut the first vintage of Cassidy’s Cuvee. In addition to the wine, the
event will feature small bites from the Left Bank. RSVP to [email protected].
Great Scott’s
Scott’s Seafood, one of the anchors of downtown San Jose’s dining scene, has just reopened after an extensive, two-month remodel.
The 26-year-old restaurant now looks different inside and out. Inside, there are new carpets, new paint, new tile in the entrance and bar area and new lighting. Overall, the dining room has a darker look and feel.
The biggest change is the addition of an outdoor, sixth-floor patio with views to the south and east. The patio, which occupies a portion of the roof-top parking lot, seats 80 people and has a fireplace.
“It looks great,” said assistant manager David Buhagiar. “It looks even better than I thought it would.” Changes to menu are in the works, too.
