On the verge of starting the 2012 season, the San Jose Giants announced their opening day roster.

The 11-time California League champions will hit the field Thursday in Modest with top draft picks Joe Panik and Andrew Susac, who were selected by the San Francisco Giants inthe first and second rounds, respectively, last year.

The roster also features a batting lineup composed of seven hitters who played for the team last year, including Jarrett Parker and Ryan Lollis, who are expected to play leading roles in the Giants outfield. San Jose’s starting pitching rotation is expected to be led by newcomers Shawn Sanford and Taylor Rogers.

Andy Skeels returns to manage the San Jose Giants after leading the club during the 2009 and 2011 seasons. The Giants start the season with a four-game stand in Modesto and three games in Adelanto before their 2012 home-opener on April 12.  More info.
