Wine Tasting at Santana Row
Winemakers on The Row features visiting winemakers at each participating restaurant at Santana Row. The winemaker pours wine selections highlighting the distinct style and estate characteristics of their winery paired with a signature food dish created by each restaurant’s executive chef to compliment the wine.

Tuesday:
Loudness
Loudness have the distinct honor of being the first Japanese metal band signed to a major label in the States. Since 1981, they’ve released 23 studio albums and have kept the metal going through thick and thin; their original drummer, Munetaka Higuchi, lost a battle against liver cancer in 2008. They’re stopping at the Avalon as part of their 30th anniversary tour.

Wednesday:
Wheels of Steel DJ Battle
Fahrenheit has been hosting a Wednesday night DJ Battle Royale for a few weeks now and it’s starting to heat up. The grand prize includes $2000 and an opportunity to spin a 30-minute set on on 99.7FM. Grab some drinks and show some support for the local vinyl destroyers.

Thursday:
Jon Nakamatsu
After the opening of Stravinsky’s Pucinella Suite, Symphony Silicon Valley presents the world premiere of Cape Cod Concerto for Clarinet, Piano and Orchestra at the California Theatre. Created by the Cuban composer D’Rivera, the piece was written specifically for Bay Area native pianist Jon Nakamatsu and clarinetist Jon Manasse. Nakamatsu also takes on Tchaikovsky’s popular Piano Concerto No. 1.

Friday:
Friday The 13th Masquerade Party
Kung Fu Vampire throws their 7th annual Friday The 13th Masquerade Party at the Blank Club. Guests are encouraged to wear a mask, face paint, costumes or “anything that sets one apart from the normal every day self.” Professional mimes and clowns ought to come without makeup and in a Wall Street suit.
