Senator John McCain will be visiting Silicon Valley on Mar. 22, but before he comes, he will be needing a lesson in outsourcing. There is good reason to be proud of Apple, but in a recent comment McCain said that the company’s computers, iPads, and iPhones were, “built in the United States of America.” Sorry, Senator. They may have been designed in the U.S., but most of these products were manufactured in China, and not always under the best conditions.

McCain later admitted that he “misspoke,” but before he visits Silicon Valley and the companies that make it great, he will likely be brushing up on who else is outsourcing the manufacturing jobs to our economic competitors.
