Monday:
Glacier Drive Lights
Perhaps the most elaborate display of DIY holiday lights is the home at 1401 Glacier Drive in south San Jose. More than 75,000 LED lights are synchronized to music broadcast over short-range FM radio so visitors can park on the street, turn off their headlights, and tune in.

Tuesday:
San Jose Jazz Orchestra Holiday Concert
Joined by singers from Stompin’ At The Savoy, the San Jose Jazz Orchestra performs a free holiday concert at the Fairmont Hotel. After the show, stroll across the street to the Christmas in the Park display or take a few laps around the outdoor skating rink at Downtown Ice.

Wednesday:
Cannons and Clouds
Harps seem to be all the rage these days with bands like Florence and the Machine and Cannons and Clouds, a new six-piece folk ensemble from San Francisco. Multi-part vocal harmonies accentuate soft-strumming ballads about love and the dreamy landscapes of the Pacific Coast Highway. It’s a free show at Blank Club with local alt rockers Ugly Winner and Doctor Nurse.

Thursday:
Northern Son
On the heels of their popular debut album Wider Skies, San Jose’s Northern Son have a new five-song EP called Spin coming out this week. They’re celebrating with an EP release show at VooDoo Lounge on Thursday along with Beta State, The Record Winter and Parents, France.

Friday:
Quetzal Guerrero and Martin Luther
The name Quetzal derives from the Aztec-Nahuatl language and it means “precious feather.” Quetzal Guerrero is certainly multi-talented; he sings, dances, and plays violin, guitar and percussion. He shares the Friday night lineup at the Pagoda Lounge with Bay Area soul rocker Martin Luther, the guy who channeled Jimi Hendrix in Across the Universe.
