Quakes Settle for Draw
The San Jose Earthquakes tied the Columbus Crew 0-0 on Saturday in Ohio. It was the second game in a row the Earthquakes were shut out. San Jose has 40 points, seven ahead of the ninth place Kansas City Wizards, who are chasing the Quakes for the last playoff spot. The Quakes next play D.C. United on Saturday at RFK Stadium, and their next home game is against the Houston Dynamo on Oct. 16.

SJSU Loses a Nail-Biter
The UC Davis Aggies stunned San Jose State 14-13, spoiling the Spartans homecoming. The Spartans (1-4) last chance was a 52-yard field goal attempt by Harrison Waid with 3:31 to go left that went wide left. Next up for SJSU is a trip to No. 21 Nevada followed by a home game against No. 4 Boise State. The Wolf Pack (5-0) rushed for more than 500 yards in a 62-7 blowout victory last year against the Spartans.
