Since 1941, family-owned Yamagami's Nursery has been helping home gardeners figure out how to fill their eco niches with flourishing flora. The nursery does more than just sell plants, it offers growing tips and landscaping advice based on years of experience. They even host a pre-Halloween giant-pumpkin weigh-off.
Though the storefront looks small, go inside and you'll find a gigantic selection of everything horticulture-related, extending way out back. If you're still nursing your green thumb, their smarty-plant employees are very helpful and knowledgeable on how not to kill your purchases.
