Hammer Theatre Center presents MOMIX in a performance combining mastery over light, shadow, and the human body. This collection of work, celebrating the world-renowned dance troupe’s 30-plus years of innovation, has been called “a masterpiece of ingenious theatrical creativity, combining superb physicality, whimsical costumes, and stunning music” (Broadway World). Founder and Artistic Director Moses Pendleton “maneuvers the uneasiness of incredulity with earnestness and grace” (Huffington Post), and has won several awards for his revolutionary work, including the Positano Choreographic Award and the American Choreography Award for film and television. Its latest production "Viva: MOMIX" uses mannequins, neon-lit costumes, and life-size spinning tops to go far beyond the medium of dance and take audiences through a transformation of the natural world into surreal fantasy.More Info
