Located on swanky Santana Row, Hotel Valencia's V-Bar definitely acts the part - men loosen the ties on their expensive dress shirts after a day at the office and ladies are dressed to the nines sipping overpriced appletinis. Although it aims to attract a more mature crowd, nighttime at the V-Bar is filled with younger trend-a-holics spending their fresh-out-of-grad-school dough. Sadly, this place shuts down before midnight most nights; but the central Santana Row location means that there are plenty of other snazzy places within stumbling distance.

Santana Row's V-Bar is exactly the kind of ultra posh hangout that draws the Bay's glittering, trend-conscious crowds. Dramatic metal beaded curtains give way to a jet black, backlit bar done up with candles and red accent lights, and low slung couches provide cushy spots for lounging in the ambient confines above Santana Row's "main drag." Outside boasts one of the biggest, nicest patios around where the well clad can sit nursing their cocktails next to glowing outdoor heaters.

Much more than just a convenient place to drink in Santana Row, V-Bar defines the district's swank. On any given night, one can spot Silicon Valley socialites looking to mingle over martinis while decompressing after a long day doing at the office. Everything about the Vbar in Santa Row's Hotel Valencia is stylish, and that includes the martinis whether it's the classic with dry gin and a whiff of vermouth, the now-classic lemon drop or one of Vbar's signature drinks (the Skyy, Midori and mango juice concoction is a favorite). As an added enticement for the ladies, Vbar throws Martinis and Manicures parties once a month $20 buys one of each.

Best Hotel Bar

If hotel bars make you scream, Vbar probably will too, but in a different fashion. An ultrachic hipster hangout with expensive drinks and expensively inclined singles, Vbar is so sexy, it just hurts. In a good way. Silver beads hang in the doorway. Thumping electronic music emanates from the speakers. Hues of jet black dominate and you can even relax on opulent couches to scope out the modish singles who populate the place.

A relaxing, after-work salon and bar setup featuring drink specials and local manicurists.
