Description
Besides having the coolest hyphy name, Traxamillion also has the coolest hyphy beats, which is why the San Jose producer is so in demand all the time. He’s always busy in the East Bay with Oakland rappers like Mistah F.A.B. and Too Short and, of course, Keak da Sneak. He produced Keak’s gotta-hear-it-to-believe-it single, “Super Hyphy,” which pretty much defined the sound. It would have fit right in on Trax’s own album, The Slapp Addict. In fact, it’s easy to pick any song Traxamillion has touched out of a line-up. That dark, slightly electronic beat is like the Bay Bridge in the middle of the night: huge and beautiful, but eerily quiet, stretching across wide, empty lanes. He’s often imitated, but never duplicated. Like it says in “Yellow Bus”: “You can’t keep stealing, you gots to keep moving. E-40, put him in the Hall of Game!
