Description

Enjoy a free concert of American favorites & personal compositions by local favorite Nancy Cassidy.

The Menlo Park Library is hosting a special event at the City Council Chambers, as Palo Alto-based singer/songwriter Nancy Cassidy performs a free concert.

Nancy’s December 12 performance in Menlo Park is aimed at the “13 to 103” age group, for a concert in which she promises to deliver American favorites from “Home on the Range” & “This Land is Your Land” to some of her best personal compositions, all delivered in her distinctively rich and honeyed voice.

Refreshments will be served. No reservation is necessary to attend.

It’s been written that Nancy Cassidy shares “Janis Joplin's bluesy approach to songwriting, Kate Wolf's optimistic outlook, and Hank Williams' earthiness.” Her 12 albums recorded to date have sold well over 2 million copies. Cassidy was first launched into national prominence with the success of her first series of CD’s entitled KidsSongs, written and recorded for young families. Her first recording in that series received a Gold Record, and one of the songs—“Chicken Lips and Lizard Hips—was recorded by Bruce Springsteen for the gold-record all-star album For Our Children, benefiting The Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

This free event is made possible thanks to the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.
