Description
The King's Mountain community in Woodside marks the 50th anniversary this year of an art festival that gets back to nature. This event, which takes place in the middle of a redwood forest, features works in a variety of media by more than 130 artists. Children can make their own art at supervised booths in the Kiddie Hollow area. Artists' booths open at 10am, but each day the fair kicks off at 8:30am with a pancake breakfast, and from 11:30am on the fair's Cookshack serves up hamburgers, sausage and nachos, as well as beer and wine. Neighbors started the art fair as a fundraiser for the King's Mountain Fire Brigade, and the event still raises money for the small community's volunteer fire department.
