Feb. 20 - May. 22, 2016Opening Reception Sunday, February 28, 2-4pm
Gideon Rubin will be in attendance and will sign books at the reception 2-3pm. Rubin's book will be available for purchase at the ICA.
The work exhibited at the ICA is the result of two residencies – one in Israel and one in China – where Rubin worked on pages taken from local newspapers and popular magazines, painting over some photographs and leaving other untouched. Through this work, Rubin presents a challenge to the viewer – an invitation to view with doubt and uncertainty the presumed objectivity of photography and the media.
