There was a time when the incredulous question "You haven't heard of Arcade Fire?!" meant one was talking to a real asshole. Now, come on. The indie rock ascendants are playing the Shoreline Amphitheatre, for Christ's sake, which is usually reserved for like, The Doobie Brothers. After winning all sorts of awards for The Suburbs in 2011, including the Album of the Year Grammy, Arcade Fire has been riding high on both critical and commercial success, continued with their latest album Reflektor. It’ll be interesting to see how their notoriously physical and energetic live show plays to a stadium-size audience, or if it even can. (Stephen Layton)
